Materials

  • A bassoon and bocal! 😊
  • 2 working reeds. I am happy to supply reeds for $15 each.
  • A notebook and pencil
  • Music purchases as needed
  • Seat strap (I recommend the Protec seat strap)
  • Reed soaking cup (an old prescription bottle or shot glass works great!)
  • Metronome/Tuner (I recommend the Tonal Energy App worth the $3.99!)
  • Reed case (I recommend the Protec bassoon reed case. Why? It holds several reeds, uses a ribbon holder, and has air vent holes. Reeds are less likely to mold.)
  • Cleaning swab (A good starter swab is the Hodge Bassoon Swab)
